For the Burgers:
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- Salt and paper
- 2 slices Cheese
- 2 burger buns
For the Toppings:
- 1 medium sliced Tomato
- 1/2 sliced onion
- 2 lettuce leaves
- sliced pickles
- Ketchup and Mustard
Prepare the Patties:In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center (this helps them cook evenly). Cook the Burgers:Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the burgers and cook for another 3 minutes.Add a slice of cheese on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt. Toast the Buns:While the burgers are finishing, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown. Assemble the Burgers:Place each cheeseburger patty on a bun. Top with your choice of lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Add ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise as desired.
